What a looong weekend..

Weekend from hell this weekend! As many know, our dog Nyah, has been having some pretty bad coughing and hacking since we moved here. Our vet has been trying a lot of things, but it just keeps getting worse, to the point where we lose sleep at night because she is hacking so bad. Well the vet suggested we see a dog allergist that only comes from the mainland a few times a year.

We went on Saturday, knowing it was going to be pretty expensive but hoping it just turned out to be allergies that could be controlled. When we saw the allergist, he basically told us that he didn't think it was allergies at all and he wanted to do chest x-rays. We said ok and they told us to pick her up in a few hours.

Basically we came back to the vet's office a few hours later and the vet told us that she kinda freaked out when getting the chest x-rays so they had to sedate her, which they weren't planning on doing. Long story short, Nyah stopped breathing when they sedated her. It turns out part of one of the sacs in her right lung was collapsed and so when they sedated her, she was barely getting any oxygen and not breathing. They got her to start breathing again, but I was freaking out when the vet told us.

She's okay now, but we had quite a scare. And we still have no idea what is wrong with her and why her right lung is so messed up. And of course, we would pay anything to make sure she was ok, but we also weren't planning on spending $900 on Saturday for a visit to the vet.

Hopefully we'll find out soon what is wrong with her. The vet says he has absolutely no idea. So fingers crossed that we find out soon and that it ends up being no big deal.

On a happy note, my football team won today! Although still trying to get used to going to the bar at 6 in the morning to watch the game.

And went to go see Just Like Heaven which was cute. But I'm a Reese Witherspoon fan, so I pretty much like everything she's in. But Billy liked it too so it might have been that the movie was just cute.
